Shearwater Cover

“I watched the colored lights and sparkles coming off of Sebastian in the dark water, as the ocean began the process of rebuilding his tail. I longed to join him in the water, to wrap my arms around him and let him carry me under the sea; but I wasn’t ready. For him, the ocean was a home; for me it was death. Without being able to transform, the ocean depths would suffocate me, the pressure collapse my bones and flesh.”

After her parent’s accident, Clara is shipped off to live with a grandfather she never knew, in a town she can’t pronounce. In Ireland, she soon discovers that her mother’s secret past is filled with tragedy. Trying to track down the truth, she begins going through changes of her own, until she’s not sure just who – or what – she is anymore.

Then she meets the mysterious Sebastian, who won’t leave her alone, and Ethan, who apparently can’t stand to be near her. Both of them seem to have supernatural powers, and she’s not quite sure whether they want to kill her or kiss her. Just when things are getting interesting, someone attacks her, and she gets a revelation that destroys everything she thought she knew about the world, humanity, and herself.

#M9BFridayReveals: Cover Reveal – Emerge by Tobie Easton with Giveaway

Welcome to this week’s M9B Friday Reveal! This week, we are revealing the cover for

Emerge by Tobie Easton

an upcoming Month9Books Title!

Author, Tobie Easton, also shares her thoughts on the cover.

Be sure to enter the giveaway found at the end of the post!

It’s finally here, and you finally get to see it!! Sharing the cover of my debut novel, Emerge, with you means so much to me. When I saw it for the first time, my jaw dropped—it’s just that beautiful. I love how the main character, Lia, blends so seamlessly into the ocean, like she’s one with the water, which is so thematically perfect for the book. While everything seems calm and beautiful on the surface, there’s something deeper, more alluring, and perhaps more sinister hidden just below.
The call of the ocean is an important part of the novel, so it’s mesmerizing the way Lia is being drawn toward the sea—and taking the reader with her.

Want to know my favorite detail? It’s the way the bottom of Lia’s gown billows like ocean waves (I’m a sucker for a gorgeous gown!). And the sparkles behind the title hint at the magic within. I could gush all day, but I really want to know what you think! Come tell me on Twitter, Goodreads, IG, orFacebook! I’m SO excited for you to read the first book of the Mer Chronicles this April!

xo Tobie

Lia Nautilus may be a Mermaid but she’s never lived in the ocean. War has ravaged the seven seas ever since the infamous Little Mermaid unleashed a curse that stripped Mer of their immortality. Lia has grown up in a secret community of land-dwelling Mer hidden among Malibu’s seaside mansions. Her biggest problems are surviving P.E. and keeping her feelings for Clay Ericson in check. Sure, he’s gorgeous in that cocky, leather jacket sort of way and makes her feel like there’s a school of fish swimming in her stomach, but getting involved with a human could put Lia’s entire community at risk.

So it’s for the best that he’s dating that new girl, right? That is, until Lia finds out she isn’t the only one at school keeping a potentially deadly secret. And this new girl? Her eyes are dead set on Clay, who doesn’t realize the danger he’s in. If Lia hopes to save him, she’ll have to get closer to Clay. Lia’s parents would totally flip if they found out she was falling for a human boy, but the more time she spends with him, the harder it is for her to deny her feelings. After making a horrible mistake, Lia will risk everything to stop Clay from falling in love with the wrong girl.

Title: Journey Through Morowak journe through morowak

Author: Kari Peterson

Genre: Fantasy, Adventure

Publication Date: April 25, 2015

It is medieval times in the land of Morowak.  Kings and Queens maintain sovereignty, and wielders of magic and fire breathing dragons are real.  Nobleman’s daughter, Arabella Wallington, is about to embark on a journey across the kingdom to meet her betrothed.  Stengar McKinnon is a titled soldier in the King’s army and she is assured a life of wealth and bliss. Arabella is herself a gifted war maiden, yet she follows her father’s orders and employs someone to protect her along the perilous crossing.  She chooses a man named Briol, whose magical abilities are tested throughout their adventure, and an enigmatic bond forms between them. Briol realizes there is something unique about Arabella, and it is brought to light.  A new unforeseen path now lies ahead.  This journey challenges everything Arabella has ever known.

My Review

Journey Through Morowak is a sword and sorcery fantasy with mages, elves and other fantastical creature.

The main character Arabella , a war maiden is journeying home to meet her betrothed  but she is far from ecstatic about this because it is arranged by her father and she is afraid that she would have to lay down her bow and sword and would miss all the adventures she had as a war maiden.

Taking her father’s admonitions to heart to hire a guard to ensure a safe and swift journey, she hires a mage and finds herself falling for him. Their journey is not without danger and skirmishes and this just helps to strengthen the bond between the two.

This journey is also about self-discovery for Arabella. She will emerge a different person at the end of it, a woman who knows what her heart wishes and is not afraid to choose it. She will discover new gifts and abilities which will bring new challenges.

I liked Arabella’s character, strong and skilful, she is a match for most men or creatures on the battlefield. Her sense of honour and duty to her father is admirable and she employs her tact even when she might have had cause to be tactless.

Apart from the romance, there is also quite a bit of action and we get to see Briol’s skill as a mage and I thoough this ability was pretty cool…or should I say hot!

If you are a fan of sword and sorcery fantasy, give this one a read!

About The Author

I am not your average gal. I didn’t grow up playing with Barbies or dressing in my mother’s clothes, jewelry or makeup. I drove my matchbox cars over obstacle courses, climbed trees, built forts, dreamt of owning my own horse, and pretended to be an elven princess. I continued to live my life on my terms, while staying true to my old fashioned values and respect. After completing high school, I took on a full-time job and put myself through college. In just under three years, I earned a degree in computers. I try to use that knowledge as often as I can.
In 2006, before I had even discovered my passion for writing, I married a wonderful man named Mark. Our love story is blissfully unique. We now live in Washington State with our three rambunctious boys, a beautiful chocolate lab, a bouncy min pin, and a tubby tailless kitty. I am as passionate about my books as I am of my family. This is exactly where I’m supposed to be right now.
